About this centre

The KUMON method is different from ordinary tutoring. It is much more!

Your child is challenged and supported in small steps according to his or her abilities and skills. With the appropriate commitment of your child, we not only guarantee that their academic performance will improve above the school year level, we also ensure that your child learns to approach new tasks independently and with motivation. This is a skill that will not only give them a head start at school, but will also make the demands of training, studies and jobs much easier.

KUMON not only ensures success, but also the joy of learning and increased self-confidence.

At the KUMON Learning Centre Bremen-Östliche Vorstadt, which is located very close to the Weser Stadium, we ensure that your child will experience lasting success in the subjects of maths and English. These lasting successes will ensure joy in learning and motivation. Your child will experience how wonderful it is to be able to solve difficult tasks independently and with concentration. He or she will no longer see learning as an evil, but will draw self-confidence and joy from the process.

During opening hours there is full focus and concentration on learning.

During the opening hours of the Learning Centre on Mondays and Thursdays, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., our attention is fully focused on the children and their learning. This means peace and concentration throughout the learning centre. The structure and equipment of the learning centre are designed to ensure that your child can learn undisturbed.

You can come to us at any time during office hours.

We know that promises and reality are often far apart. That's why we invite you to contact us by phone or by filling out a form to make an appointment. Then you can visit us in person at the learning centre to make sure that you are making the best decision for your child's learning success with the KUMON learning method.

You can book the KUMON learning method with us without a long-term commitment.

If you choose KUMON tutoring for your child, you do not need to sign a long-term contract with us. You have the option to cancel your decision at any time with four weeks' notice to the end of the next month. This is our satisfaction guarantee that we give you.

You can start for 35,- €, the monthly investment in your child is 105,- € / subject. If you choose both subjects, the monthly investment is 198,- €/child. A sibling can learn with us for 98,- € /subject. If you choose both subjects for a sibling, the monthly fee is 190,- €.

We are happy to receive recommendations

The KUMON learning method convinced you and your child? Great! Recommend us to others and receive a 5,- € discount on your child's monthly fee for each recommendation. At best, your child will learn for free, but never for nothing.

Digital learning is no problem for us.

Corona also presents us with special challenges and changes the learning process. We are convinced that your child will benefit significantly from being present in our learning centre and the associated absence of distractions, and we therefore ensure the highest standards of hygiene. If your child still prefers to learn from home, we offer Zoom lessons. And this also extends beyond the Corona phase.

"If you do not succeed at once, try again, try again and again." With this quote, from the British writer William Edward Hickson (1803-1870), I, Ivica Ilievski, Ivi, would like to introduce myself to you, dear parents.

Why this quote? The title of the autobiography of Toru Kumon, the founder of the Kumon Method, is "Give it a Try", and this is what learning is all about. We have all learned to walk in this way, we have stood up, walked a few steps, fallen on our bottom, stood up again, tried again.

Over and over again, and until we were finally able to walk. Nobody forced us to do it, we wanted to learn something all by ourselves and that is the point that the KUMON method picks up on, conveys and has completely convinced me.

I am 50 years old, a master craftsman (IHK), trainer (AEVO), HP for psychotherapy and for many years I have been able to accompany and support future master craftsmen here in Bremen as a learning coach in adult education in their exam preparation, in the subjects of scientific laws and business management calculation.

The deficit around learning and the aversion to learning that I encountered there made me want to help in advance. I would like to support your children in discovering their abilities, to promote them and to experience learning as such, as a self-determined, exciting and self-esteem-enhancing experience.

Since 1 April 2021, I have been responsible for the KUMON Learning Centre Bremen-Östliche Vorstadt, which has been in existence for 12 years, and I would like to invite you to visit us in Lüneburger Straße and get a personal impression of KUMON, the Learning Centre, my team and myself.

Most Popular Questions

KUMON offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, KUMON empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each KUMON student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the KUMON International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. KUMON welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
Students can start learning with KUMON from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; KUMON helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, KUMON will be ready to help you achieve your goal.
As a global programme, KUMON does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the KUMON Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. KUMON operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
KUMON is a self-learning programme but each student receives regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each KUMON Instructor is to observe their students working, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
