About this centre

The learning centre is located in bright, friendly rooms (shop) at Lepsiusstraße 47, 12163 Berlin, in the immediate vicinity of the well-known Steglitz shopping mile "Schloßstraße".

While the students are learning, a quiet waiting, reading and play area is available for parents and siblings.
The garden is also open in summer.

The Study Centre is known for its very pleasant, inviting learning atmosphere in which all children feel comfortable and concentrated, goal-oriented learning is easy.

Since the KUMON method is individually adapted to each child, the working hours in the learning centre are also different for each student.
Learning Centre Director Petra Kemmler works intensively with each individual child and each student works as long or short as he or she needs.

When I got to know KUMON through my children a few years ago, I was very surprised that each child was individually encouraged and could work at their own pace. After a short time, progress became visible. It was always a fascinating experience when another hurdle was overcome.

I personally have always enjoyed learning, and I would like to bring this joy to others as well. Many children who have already had negative experiences with learning need a sense of achievement. This makes them enjoy learning again. In my learning centre it is therefore very important to me that the children succeed. They get positive feedback and feel that they can achieve something. Especially learning above school year level reinforces this feeling, which is why I strive to lead the children there. At the same time, they gain a head start, which takes the pressure off them at school. These experiences strengthen their self-confidence and improve their learning attitude. Encouraging children and giving them good things for the future fills me with joy and pride.

Not only my KUMON students enjoy working in my learning centre. I also continue to train myself, as my personal development is very important to me; keyword lifelong learning. It is important to me to stay up to date in order to support my students competently. Therefore I regularly visit training and working groups to learn more about the KUMON method.
