About this centre

The first learning centre in Dresden offers your child more than tutoring:
sustainable learning success and good grades in the long term. The KUMON learning method enables your child to optimally develop his or her abilities. Each student works independently with learning material that is individually adapted to him or her in terms of quantity and level of difficulty.
The new KUMON Learning Centre in Dresden is now located at Boderitzer Straße 20a in the Mockritz district since January 2019. It is very well located, easily accessible by public transport and parking is easy. The following DVB lines are in the immediate vicinity: Line 66 & 63, HS Campingplatz Mockritz or Münzteichweg.
While the students are in the learning centre, the parents can wait in the cosy lounge, read while talking to other parents or watch the news. There are also many interesting play opportunities for siblings. The learning centre consists of a friendly, light-flooded room where children, students and adults feel comfortable. Here they can learn undisturbed and independently solve their tasks on the individual worksheets. The structures in the learning centre are clearly defined and the guidance provided by the instructor helps each student to quickly and confidently get into the rhythm of learning. In addition, the instructor monitors the students' learning successes, provides targeted support, gives feedback and observes the skills of each individual.
Please note:
The Learning Centre will be closed on Wednesday, but we will have time for children and parents to have informational interviews and placement tests. Please make an individual appointment so that we can determine the best time for you and your child. You are also welcome to send us an email with your contact details or call the learning centre. Please leave a message and we will call you back.

My name is Franziska Reinhardt. I have a degree in business administration and have been a KUMON instructor since 2013. Finally, KUMON is also available in Dresden and I will pass on this wonderful learning method to children and students.

In my search for the best educational opportunities for my daughter, I became aware of the KUMON method. KUMON immediately inspired and convinced me. This learning method, in which each pupil can follow his or her own learning path, the pace is determined and adapted, the tasks are adapted for all ages and are individually compiled, is unique worldwide. After my training as a KUMON instructor, I opened the first learning centre in Dresden in 2013. I want to make sure that children, students and adults in my hometown can benefit from this learning method. Every age group is welcome.

In addition to the subjects of mathematics and English, KUMON helps children develop their own learning attitude, improve their ability to concentrate and strengthen their willpower. With the help of the KUMON method, I would like to give the pupils the joy of learning and self-learning for a self-determined, successful future.
I look forward to getting to know you and yours.

Most Popular Questions

KUMON offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, KUMON empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each KUMON student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the KUMON International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. KUMON welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
Students can start learning with KUMON from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; KUMON helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, KUMON will be ready to help you achieve your goal.
As a global programme, KUMON does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the KUMON Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. KUMON operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
KUMON is a self-learning programme but each student receives regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each KUMON Instructor is to observe their students working, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
